Evoken from the ashes of ‘‘Karenza“ and ‘‘Her Severed Head“, SPREAD THE DISEASE started 1997 to set the cornerstone, which was later known as the genre of ‘‘Blackenend Hardcore“. With the direct connection to their siblingband ‘‘NEW DAY RISING‘‘ and cross connections to bands such as ‘‘Acrid‘‘, ‘‘The China White‘‘ and ‘‘The Abanded Hearts Club‘‘, the band was surrounded by many influences in a time that offered a solid base to create something new. This is exactly what SPREAD THE DISEASE did. The first music of SPREAD THE DISEASE was vicious and raw. From the outset, they were dipping their toes into the black metal waters and truly creating something new. Tragedies is a document of a creative young band harnessing fury and explosiveness to craft an ugly and destructive output. This collects the bands early material- the “This Blood Ridden Tragedy” 7” (originally out on Undecided Records), the split 7” with Song Of Zarathustra (originally released on Witching Hour Records), as well as songs from their appearance on the “Fast N Bulbous” Hardcore show on CHRY Toronto, and a previously unreleased track! This release documents the early steps of a unique band, that wrote music to stand the test of time and still scintillates through it’s pure rawness and straight forward approach,

Please note that we do our best to protect vinyl records ideally for shipping, using our custom made mailers and additional cardboard squares. However, we can not guarantee that no damage on the way occurs. Ordering is at one's own risk. Vinyl might be delivered unsealed as we have to open copies to check vinyl colours, if not sufficiently labeled by the distributor / label.
